Creation, in definition, is making something nonexistent
exist, like the creation of our world born out of nothingness or like The
Monalisa being an artistic piece that first came out in the mind of Da Vinci. In
that sense, a creation is something that is unique and is the first of its kind; that's why we call somebody with new and genuine ideas *Creative*. You may create a traumatizing thought, or the most beautiful statue; as long as you are the first one to do that and no one can repeat it after you; you are its creator.
Once you encounter a creation, you are discovering it, exploring its potential for good and bad. Discovery is about analysis and predictions of any creation ever made (whether man-made or god-made). This is why discovery comes after creation and before invention; you cannot discover any nonexistent thing and you cannot invent something without understanding what is the problem you are solving and what is it that you need to do.
Invention is more or less a form of creation, but rather a narrow and a more advanced form of creation. Invention is whatever uses the genuine ideas created to solve the discovered problems using a gadget, a set of rules or a device. Inventions are always made to help people and expand the human knowledge and abilities. These inventions may encounter a lot of rejections and ethical confrontations, but will undoubtedly face the need for more of it. That is when innovation comes in.
Innovation is the maximum level an idea can get to. Ideas get created, discovered, implemented and invented, but the last stage is to adapt all of that and upgrade it to make it convenient for people in different contexts. Sometimes people confuse Innovation with invention, when innovation is only restricted to making previous inventions better, integrating them and adding new features and capabilities, while only things that are completely new and beneficial can qualify to be called inventions.
In my humble point of view, this table sums up the relationship between Creation, Discovery, Invention and Innovation:-
